The Monument Project is a mixed reality public art work exploring the practice of memorialization while addressing the complex meanings and feelings subsequent to memorialization, especially those relating to public monument It includes the marginalization of women and minorities in public monuments and uses technology to raise awareness of their achievements in the arts, sciences, technology, and community service. Shortlisted by Creative Time and NEW INC at the New Museum in 2019 from over 600 applicants, it was a 2020 recipient of a COVID Artist Relief grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and a 2018 recipient of a Creative Engagement grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with Microsoft, the Siddhartha School, and the Rubin Foundation.
